Ground Engineering
RIG has over 30 years of geotechnical engineering experience to assist our clients in solving their ground problems. From feasibility assessments to construction, we provide reliable engineering advice on such aspects as foundations, earthworks, ground improvement, groundwater management, ground instability, mining, retaining structures and slope stability. We provide desk study appraisals and coal mining risk assessments, to assess project feasibility, and scope and coordinate ground investigation and monitoring to facilitate our detailed geotechnical design. RIG has the expertise to provide cost evaluations of abnormal ground engineering works to assist our clients in program and construction risk management to optimise development design.
Materials and Waste Management
Disposal of waste soils can represent significant abnormal costs to land development, if not properly quantified. We have the practical expertise in construction and earthworks management, from small housing developments to large commercial projects, to provide rapid and cost-saving advice on waste soil classification, construction waste exemptions and Environmental Permitting. We will provide sustainable Materials Management Plans, WRAP protocols for recycled aggregates and Environmental Permitting to provide a sustainable and cost-effective solutions to minimise financial and programme impacts on your development.
Contaminated Land
Contamination issues can represent cost and programme delays to construction projects, lower property values and cause obstacles in achieving environmental compliance. To manage your environmental liabilities, RIG has the expertise to undertake due diligence reviews, contamination risk assessment, pollution and remediation evaluation, reclamation design and regulatory liaison to minimise and mitigate these issues. Expert Witness
Disputes and claims on land development projects can frequently arise due to ground related issues. RIG can provide an independent review and investigation on claims or defence in relation to earthworks, construction, geotechnical, groundwater and pollution related issues. Richard Izatt-Lowry has provided expert opinion and acted as an expert witness on a range of geotechnical, hydrogeological and contamination issues and is experienced in reviewing and evaluating documents, assessing claim submissions, preparing independent assessment and in assisting in the negotiation and resolution of disputes.
